The need to better assign inventory to orders
Our client asked us to develop custom functionality that would allow them to partially allocate items to customer orders to improve supply chain management, whilst also still being able to fully exploit NetSuite's out of the box automated allocation procedures.
A user-friendly soltuion
We built a custom SuiteLet which allows business users to partially allocate transaction lines directly from a customer's Sales Order. Users simply click a button in the Sales Order header and then select how many of each item to allocate per order line. The SuiteLet then automatically takes care of the allocation process.
More efficient inventory management
The ability to partially allocate individual orders via the new SuiteLet, combined with NetSuite's out of the box automated allocation procedures allows customer demand to be easily aligned with available inventory. This has led to increased customer satisfaction and improved supply chain efficiency.
